Defect report from : Jörg Schilling , FOKUS-Fraunhofer
(Please direct followup comments direct to yyyyyyyyyyyyyy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx)
@ page 708 line 27428 section pax editorial {unknown}
Problem:
Edition of Specification (Year): 2003
Defect code : 3. Clarification required
The -s option (substitute) for pax is ambiguous.
It states that a file archive member that substitutes to the empty
string should be ignored when reading/writing archives.
This does not specify what happens when a directory name substitutes
to the empty string.
Action:
Add a new paragraph with the following text:
If in write mode and a path name that coresponds to a directory
substitutest to the empty string, then the directory and all its
content is skipped.
In copy mode, the substitution is handled the same way as if
the substitution was done in write mode.
