Defect report from : Larry Dwyer , Hewlett-Packard Co.
(Please direct followup comments direct to yyyyyyyyyyyyyy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx)
@ page 999 line 31979 section pthread_attr_getguardsize objection {hpldkbd-010}
Problem:
Edition of Specification (Year): 2004
Defect code : 1. Error
The default size of the guard size imposes an unreasonable waste of virtual
memory addresses on systems that support variable page size and which support
very large page size (on the order of one gigabyte or larger page sizes).
Although virtual memory is not real memory, it is removed form the range of
memory addresses the application can use.
Action:
Change lines 31979-31980
from
"The default value of the guardsize attribute is {PAGESIZE}
bytes. The actual value of {PAGESIZE} is
implementation-defined."
to
"The default value of the guardsize attribute is
implementation-defined."
