The Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA) program is an independent global certification program for qualifying the skills, knowledge and experience of IT, Business and Enterprise Architects. Accepted and applicable worldwide, Open CA boasts more than 3,500 certified professionals from 160 companies in more than 60 countries worldwide.
The program requires applicants to demonstrate skills and experience against a set of conformance requirements through written applications and peer interviews. There are no training courses to attend, and no written exams to complete.

The Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA) program requires candidates to submit a comprehensive certification package detailing their skills and experience gained on working on architecture related projects, followed by a rigorous peer review process.
The program is unique in that it is skills and experience based, vendor neutral, portable and globally recognized.

Open CA, an Open Group Certification, is a well-known and respected certification for practicing IT and Enterprise Architects. There have been numerous articles about the value of the program; for example, in an article on www.Infoworld.com by Tom Kaneshige from IDG entitled Hot tech certifications in a cool job market, Open CA is identified as one of the leading certification programs in the IT industry. The article points to a Foote report of 22,000 IT professionals covering 170 IT certifications, and it suggests that in terms of pay growth, Open CA is one of the top five must-have certifications.
